Proud to be square

Traditionally a round pot has always been the chosen shape to use, because pots were traditionally made from clay on a wheel. We believe growing in a square pot is actually very important if you want to be environmentally conscious. We can fit between around 21% more pots within our glasshouse using a square pot – so we use less energy to produce more herbs. You can use a smaller box to transport our herbs, fitting more plants on a pallet – therefore making transport more efficient. You can also fit more square pots on a supermarket shelf, depending on the herb and the sleeve shape – so a supermarket can sell more herbs within a smaller area. So actually there’s environmental reason why we are proud to be square!
