Governance

What does it mean?

At Lincolnshire Herbs, governance means more than just policies and procedures, it’s about accountability, transparency, and doing the right thing at every level of our business. Strong governance underpins how we make decisions, manage risk, and uphold ethical standards across our operations. From food safety and employee welfare to supply chain integrity and board oversight, we are committed to responsible leadership that supports long-term sustainability and trust.

Modern Slavery Statement

“Lincolnshire Herbs is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards. Employees are required to uphold certain professional standards, including adherence to UK anti-slavery legislation and policies and we require the same commitment from our supply chain.

Modern slavery is the prevention and perversion of an individual’s human rights. This can take various forms including human trafficking, slavery and forced labour. Lincolnshire Herbs are committed to acting with the utmost integrity in all our business dealings, including implementing effective business controls in relation to modern slavery

Non-compliance with our policies and standards will result in action being taken. This may include specifying a fixed period of time to eliminate any contradictory processes or relationships, termination of the relationship, dismissal of employees and termination of contracts for companies or agencies. The appropriate action will be judged on factors including scale and duration of the non-compliance.

Lincolnshire Herbs will ensure as part of our ongoing commitment that all our suppliers continue to meet our high standards and comply with the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We will continue to assess and reassess within our supply chain to ensure we are only using those companies that provide the ethical and social standards for workers that are required. We will continue to assess our own processes to ensure we have the highest ethical standards and support the eradication of Modern Slavery.”

Our Certifications

At Lincolnshire Herbs, certifications are a key part of how we demonstrate our commitment to high standards in food safety, sustainability, and ethical business practices. We work hard to meet – and exceed – the requirements of leading independent bodies that hold us accountable for what we grow, how we grow it, and how we treat people and the planet in the process.

We are proud to hold the following certifications:

  • Red Tractor – Assuring food safety, traceability, and responsible farming across all our British-grown herbs.

  • LEAF Marque – Recognising our efforts to farm sustainably with care for soil health, water management, biodiversity and community engagement.

  • Global G.A.P. Chain of Custody – Ensuring full traceability of certified products throughout the supply chain, maintaining integrity from farm to retailer.

  • BRCGS – Ensuring the highest standards in food production, packaging, and traceability.

  • SMETA – Verifying our commitment to ethical business practices, including labour standards, health and safety, environmental responsibility, and business integrity throughout our operations.

These certifications are more than just badges—they reflect our core values of integrity, care, and continuous improvement. Through regular audits and transparent reporting, we ensure that every part of our operation stands up to scrutiny and supports a resilient, responsible future for farming.
